The 16th China Cruise Shipping Conference was unveiled on Saturday in Nanshan district, Shenzhen city.
Co-hosted by Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, and China Communications and Transportation of Association, the conference is centered on the theme of "Sailing from Shenzhen and traveling around the world", with over 400 guests from more than ten countries such as the UK, Germany, Spain, France, Japan and Australia attending.
The conference will last for three days, and hold events including a policy and economy forum, industry leadership forum, cruise port salon, cruise repair and supporting industry forum, as well as a cruise talent education and development summit.
The China Cruise Yacht Industry Alliance was officially launched during the opening ceremony. Besides, MSC Cruise, one of the world's largest family-owned cruise companies has announced a return to China in 2024. The mega luxury cruise ship "Spectrum of the Seas", under Royal Caribbean, will also return to China in 2024.
China Merchants Viking Cruises has recently launched three new outbound tourism routes, including Jeju Island in South Korea as one of the destinations for the first time. Since its launch in 2021, China Merchants-Yidun, the first Chinese-flagged luxury cruise ship, now has several cruise lines sailing from Shenzhen to other domestic cities.
During recent years, the Shenzhen government has released a series of policies to support the cruise industry, covering the enterprise settlement, subsidies on operation teams, registration and cruise voyage number.
